Meher - God's Blessings

We want to start off by congratulating Vick and Sukhjyot, the two wonderful and very excited parents of Meher.

Meher brings a lot of joy and happiness to the family, after all her name means god's blessings and she definitely is a little bundle of blessings. In other cultures Meher also means talented, friendship, kindness and affection.

The story goes like this...

#mypainterincrime Sabhi is a loving character himself and he chose to gift Vick and Sukhjyot an Everlasting canvas for their newly born daughter Meher. He talked to them, he figured out what they wanted and he made sure his art would touch everyone's heart.

Everyone who is possibly reading this has a favourite cartoon from their childhood. I know mine was Hamtaro! Haha! No seriously, if someone painted me Hamtaro right now and gave it to me I would go crazy. I'm sure Sabhi's favourite cartoon was Sailor Moon. I joke, one of Sabhi's favourite is Donald Duck!

Sabhi really did not know what to gift Vick and Sukhjyot, he kept thinking and thinking until one wild night at about 11PM Sabhi randomly texted Vick asking, "What is your and Phabi's favourite childhood cartoon?" I'm sure Vick was confused but he answered Sabhi's question. And low and behold Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny came up. Sometimes its just that simple. Sabhi knew that an Everlasting canvas in Meher's room would take Vick and Sukhjyot back to their childhood. Not only does it remind them of the young, crazy and innocent days it also reminds them to just take it easy because at one point in life Saturday morning 7:00 AM was the most important time of the week to them. Now it is up to Meher to decide if she likes Tom and Jerry, Bugs Bunny or maybe she'll find her own cartoon! Imagine its Pokemon?

Meher's Tom and Jerry and Bugs Bunny canvases will remain with her forever. It really is that simple to add that personal touch to your child's room with art that touches the heart. Sabhi took it a step further and connected the paintings to the city of Toronto which signifies the hometown of the family. Paintings like these make awesome gift ideas for baby showers, new born babies and also birthdays. Enjoy the pictures below!

Below are the final paintings!

Tadaaaaaaaaa Bugs Bunny ready for Meher's room!
Tadaaaaaaaaaaa Tom and Jerry. Total classic!
Enjoy the Start to Finish Process!

Oh we love our Sharpies!
The beginning stages! Bugs Bunny, he needs paint!
Amazing Sharpie job!
The best part of all! Once the paint touches the canvas its over, no stopping.
Detail detail and more detail!
We all love going to the Blue Jays game! Great way to add the personal city touch!

Who woulda thought Bugs Bunny would be reppin' Toronto?
Gotta get out the Sharpie again!

Missing the Toronto love!
Done, done and done! Amazing pieces of art ready for their place on Meher's wall!
Final Tom and Jerry!

When Sabhi gave Vick and Sukhjyot the paintings, Vick said to Sabhi, "I had no clue, I thought you were doing some survey to find out the best cartoon characters"

Winter Wonderland - Rampi's Baby Shower

Before we start we want to congratulate Rampi and Aman as they will be parents very soon! We should have made an extra painting for Rampi and Aman's love as its definitely #Everlasting!

A few weeks ago Rampi contacted us inquiring if we could create an #Everlasting canvas for her first ever baby shower! Again we were super excited as we were in the process of completing our previous project which was Init's Baby Shower. #mypainterincrime Sabhi consulted with Rampi and her husband Aman and came up with a few ideas and after that it was time to get our sketch pads. Sabhi and I met up later on to discuss how we can  turn their ideas into art as a few special requests were made. The painting needed to include Mickey and Minnie mouse and also a little baby mouse! No duhhh its a baby shower after all! On top of that Rampi and Aman also wanted to incorporate their family into the painting so we made sure we took care of that too! From beginning to end again it was a fun and challenging project like all of our other projects. This was the first time Sabhi and I actually painted together, the last time we painted together was grade 9 art class! I remember I asked Sabhi to help me on my final project in grade 9 art and paint the rims and tires of Eleanor from Gone in 60 Seconds. If you don't know Eleanor shame on you!

Painting together helped us in a lot of ways as the ideas just kept flowing and flowing. We have our own specialties, strengths and weaknesses and it helps to paint together as we understand each others capabilities. After we completed this piece Sabhi and I just stared at the canvas in complete awe. I said to Sabhi, "dude ima just name my baby Aria and keep this." It was a lot of fun!

By the way, we also included an extra feature which was 3D snow flakes!

Tadaaaaaaa! The finished Canvas!
Enjoy the many many pictures of the start to finish process! This one was truly documented step by step!

This is where it all began! The original sketch!

Little Aria sitting in her stroller

Rampi, Aman and Aria!
Black outline is very important!

Can't get any cuter than polka dots

No lie the cutest little baby ever
That is one of the 3D flakes!
Another 3D flake!
We incorporated 6 3D flakes in total. Each will have the initials of Rampi and Aman's grandparents, parents and siblings
Splash of paint added and the canvas is coming to life
Base coat for the background!
Making sure the flakes stay white and fresh!
Our brush...we named it Brushy
Cleaned up the edges of the flakes...still painting had no depth or life to it, its missing the wintery wonderland feeling
Sabhi specializes in blending and backgrounds...and a lot of other painting techniques
The Master Sabhi working on the background, solid blending skills
This is where painting together helped us out, he did the background and I was taking pictures! Haha Ok I joke, I was filling in the details around the snowflakes so he wouldn't have to worry about it while he blended
Having a little fun!
The fading and washing all done by Sabhi
Sandeep coming in with the trees, this was pivotal for the painting as it created a sense of depth and also height since the top part of the painting is lighter blue representing the sky
Sandeep working those trees
Still working those trees
Sabhi pushed me to aside and completed the last tree...he is a bully
Snowflake!
I would draw the snowflakes and Sabhi would come in with the paint, awesome team work
Sabhi going the extra mile
Creating that wintery wonderland feeling
Sandeep finally doing some work

Final final touches
We added the twinkle twinkle
Still not done even though it looks pretty much done, this is when Sabhi and I stood back and stared at the painting and couldn't believe what it turned into
3D snowflakes emphasizing the importance of the family members

We added some sparkles! When under the right light this looks like a snow globe!
Tadaaaa! Ready to hand over to Rampi and Aman for their big day! Look at the shiny red and silver sparkles!
We want to thank Rampi and Aman on giving us the opportunity to do this for them and on top of that we also want to congratulate them as they will be parents very soon! Aria has no clue that she already has a canvas waiting for her.
