Life Bouquet - Happy 50th Birthday Canvas

We created another magical canvas for Ruby's dear Mothers 50th Birthday! The story behind this canvas is as amazing as Ruby's Mom! Before we begin we want to say Happy Birthday to Ruby's Mom and also best wishes from Everlasting Artwork! Creating this canvas was a pleasure as we had a lot of fun!

The Story of Ruby's Mom:
It started in a small village in Punjab, India where her passion for sewing, fashion and tailoring began. Her passion has lead to her success as she owns an Indian fashion boutique located in Brampton, RANG Boutique

During our conversation with Ruby we discovered many many things about her Mom. We discovered that the family resided in Dubai for a number of years and later moved to Toronto, Canada. She enjoys gardening, cooking, traditional Punjabi fashion and dance and also practicing her religion. She is also funny, loving and caring. We were so happy Ruby approached us to make her Mothers 50th Birthday a birthday to remember! We wanted to incorporate her Mothers story onto a canvas and our goal was to ensure her Mother sheds a tear when she figured out the meaning of what we had created. We are not boosting or exaggerating, Ruby's Mom truly did shed tears as she was in total shock and did not expect her daughter Ruby and her son to give her such a meaningful gift. Ruby's Mom also gave me a hug!

It was truly a very touching moment to see her so happy, if someone created a painting of my life and gave it to me I would shed tears too. Thinking about it gives me the tingles! This isn't the first time we made our clients shed tears, who remembers The Amancave ? Yup we made him shed tears too!

We want to thank Ruby for providing us with such a detailed overview of her Mothers personality, likes, dislikes and life experiences! Without all that information we would not be able to deliver her beautiful canvas!

We decided to put her life experiences and story into a bouquet. The hearts in the bouquet represent all the things she likes, the image in the vase represents her village Tajpur Punjab, then the move to Dubai and finally to Toronto Canada. The maroon line that goes across the Toronto skyline is the road that goes around her village in Punjab. The small yellow plants are canola plants aka Saroon (punjabi) which represents the rich fields of Punjab and also one of its most popular crop. Then finally we have the blue river that trickles from the top left corner of the vase down to the bottom. That is the river that also went by Ruby's Moms village in Punjab! Everything is just a crazy journey and we totally enjoyed every second of painting!

Tadaaaa!!! The Final Painting! Life Bouquet
Enjoy the step by step pictures!!
Started from the bottom - our sketch. Amazing what it turned into
Mixing mixing mixing
We paint together! The process is a lot of fun for us!
VASE IS ALIVE!!
I caught Sabhi staring at the painting! What a cool shot!
Now look at that. Story time. Tajpur Punjab to Dubai to Toronto! The maroon line going across the Toronto skyline represents the road that goes around the perimeter of the village that Ruby's Mom grew up in!
Anyone who knows their Punjabi Alphabet may notice the handle of the vase actually represents the letter Papaa! It stands for Punjab!
Look at the palm tree! Detail detail detail
#WETHENORTH
We laid out the flowers and hearts to see where we could paint in the stems! Yes this canvas has a 3D aspect to it!
There we go there are the stems!
Prior to making the leaves we laid out the vase, flowers and hears to see how it looks!
Stems and foliage in the back and flowers and hearts in the front! Gave this canvas some dimension!
The hearts represent all the things Ruby's Mom enjoys doing! These two include sewing and her business in Brampton RANG Boutique!
Who doesn't like cooking!? -  I know I love it!
True follower of her religion!
More flowers!
TADAAA!!! Once again the Life Bouquet! All complete
What an awesome birthday gift! Seeing Ruby's Moms reaction truly melted our hearts! This was a complete success and now the painting and the memory of her past and her 50th Birthday will remain with her forever! Congratulations and best wishes from us!

Do you have a story that needs to be told on canvas? This was a great example of a 50th Birthday but we don't stop there.

5 years to 5 more months...

5 years to 5 more months left until their big day, Everlasting Artwork is glad to announce that our artwork will be a part of Rajat and Amanpreet's big day! Our client Rajat wanted to celebrate his 5th anniversary with his fiance Amanpreet and contacted us inquiring about our Abstract Portraits! He had seen the previous one we completed click here to check it out and was really intrigued. He left it up to us to be creative! It was a fun and challenging piece for us as always! Big thanks as he has always been a big fan of our artwork and was totally blown away when we handed the portrait over to him. He also mentioned his mom was amazed. Try to find the number 5 in the portrait, we drew it in to represent his 5th anniversary with the love of his life Amanpreet. Lastly, early congratulations to Rajat and Amanpreet as we look forward to creating an Everlasting canvas for their wedding in the future!

We start our portraits with basic facial features to ensure it resembles the face behind it. After that the real creativity begins. For a portrait made to signify love like this one we incorporated a heart which automatically turned into the focal point. There are no rough drafts, pre-sketches or anything done beforehand, we go with the flow while creating our portraits. Slowly slowly the portrait turns into a one of a kind masterpiece that takes your eyes on a journey.

Our Abstract Portraits are an awesome and meaningful way to gift family and friends.

Tadaaaaaaa! Complete Abstract Portrait of Amanpreet!
The basics...
We went directly to the eye as our concept developed from there
Slowly slowly we filled in the blank spots while leaving the heart intact
She's got a little vine growing on her nose
All about the detail
The waves in the hair is becoming staple in our portraits!
One last time, coloured and complete!
Close up images
Yes, that is an earring
Close up of the detail work
Something about that diamond...
Love is something else
Our favourite design is around the nose, the small and big dots creating the semi circles.
Another close up

We Don't Believe in Buying Generic Cards

I cannot remember the last time I bought a card for someone close to me. I have however been forced by my parents to buy five or six 'Congratulations on your new home' or 'Baby Boy' cards from the dollar store and store them in the house in case of an emergency card shortage. I am sure a lot of us have faced that issue in the past. I sometimes feel ashamed to even give family and friends the dollar store cards but what can you do. It doesn't matter because we slip a $50 Canadian bill + $1 American bill in the card and it makes up for it. Some people will do a $20 Canadian bill + $1 American bill.

So obviously its Valentines Day today and I wasn't going to just hit up Shoppers Drug Mart or Wal-Mart or Hallmark and buy a card for $6.00 - $8.00 + tax. No lie cards in that price range are really really nice but at the end of the day they're not for me. I am either a dollar store kinda guy or I'ma make you a custom card kinda guy. No middle.

I thought it would be a cool idea to do a portrait of Navneet (my valentines) but make it abstract so she'd have to stare at it to figure it out!

So below is what I made for Navneet. Obviously she totally loved it, she couldn't believe her eyes and said its the best thing I've ever made for her! (she says that to every single new piece of art she gets).

Look at that! She totally loved it! Yellow and Red = Friendship and Love
We do Abstract Portraits!
Send us a picture of your loved one and we'll turn it into something meaningful! Drop the boring old card and give something that is Everlasting.

The Hooster

One of my close close friends at work got a new position and I wanted to make something that he could keep forever so I decided to paint him something that was totally him. He loves chicken, he loves beef, he loves pork and loves being a carnivore. One time I was eating baby spinach and he looked at me and he said, "we humans took thousands and thousands of years to get to the top of the food chain and you choose to eat the spinach?" (he is serious) I told the team at work that I'd paint something for him (typically we give a card and sign it) but this time I wanted to turn it up a notch for his keepsake gift!

He is born in the year of the Rooster, he hates spicy food but loves eating chicken and meat! So I thought it would be nice to make him a painting that represented all of that! I got the entire team and all of his friends at work to sign the back of the canvas, people got real creative with it! One of our friends wrote "happy birthday" in Mandarin or Cantonese because he thought it was his birthday but really it was his going away keepsake gift. A lot of fails and a lot of laughs but in the end we wish our friend the best of luck in his new role!

Sabhi and I got together last weekend and had some fun! It wasn't just all me! Can anyone guess this famous rooster?

The Hooster
The Coolest going away gift ever for a dear friend at work! The Hooster
Step by Step!
Sabhi and I having some fun!
That RED though
My buddy absolutely loved the black splatter on the painting he said "it makes it look gangster"
Can't really paint on top as we had to let the black dry
Black, white and a lot of red!
The Hooster is coming alive!
Making it look like the Sriracha logo!
We're done just need some varnish!
After 4 coats of glossy varnish The Hooster is finally ready!
The splattered paint and even the rooster itself had a 3D feel as we purposely layered on the paint!
My buddy absolutely loved his painting! I got all of our friends at work to sign the back! He said he would put it up in his office! Much better than a simple card no?
The funniest comment! One of my buddies thought it was his birthday so he wrote "Happy Birthday" in Mandarin then realized its not for his birthday so he covered it up with a piece of paper saying "flip this on Aug 23rd"
Tadaaaaaaaaaa we present The Hooster!
Sabhi and I had a lot of fun painting The Hooster! Everyone at work thought it was a great going away gift for our colleague who moved on to a different position. It is much more memorable than just a simple card with everyone's wishes on it, this will definitely be Everlasting.

Find this idea interesting? Do you know someone who deserves a custom painting for their big accomplishment? Then do not hesitate to contact us and discover what we can create for your loved ones.
